Frequently asked questions

How is the hourly rate calculated?

Monthly revenue needed = (take-home pay + business costs) divided by (1 minus your set-aside share). Billable hours per month = billable hours per week x weeks worked per year, divided by 12. Hourly rate = revenue needed divided by billable hours.

Why do I have to type the exchange rate?

Rates change every day and differ between banks, apps and markets. We do not fetch or guess a rate, so what you see is based on the rate you choose. Check the real rate on the day you quote.

Is this the rate I should charge?

It is your floor: the lowest rate that covers your costs, your take-home goal and your set-aside. You can charge more when your work is worth more to the client. We do not claim any market rate.

What should I put for the tax set-aside?

It is the share of each payment you keep aside for tax and savings. We do not know your situation, so choose a number you are comfortable with and ask a tax professional.

Is my data sent anywhere?
